La Cidrerie
La Cidrerie: a multi-faceted cultural venue
The former Cidrerie, founded in 1833 and once a grain mill in the 50s, has been restored in keeping with Norman architecture, but with a modern twist in its renovation and layout. Through this refurbishment, the town of Beuzeville has decided to create a cultural hub just a stone's throw from the renovated town center, further enhancing the town's dynamism and appeal.
The cultural center comprises several distinct areas:
A 2-storey covered market hall for markets and fairs, as well as exhibitions and artistic performances, with a standing capacity of 300.
A brand-new auditorium for theater, music, cinema and corporate seminars. With a seating capacity of 140, it will host the cultural season, featuring headliners, new talents and amateur artists.
Part of the former vats has been converted into a café area where spectators can relax before or after performances, and the former grain silo into an exhibition space and future digital museum (Micro-folie).
The former grain store will be used as a test store, enabling the launch of a new business to complement what already exists in the community.
La Cidrerie is intended to be a cultural facility that will bring the area together, animate the town, attract tourists for its heritage and artistic aspects, raise awareness of cultural issues (school and extracurricular activities, associative projects, etc.), as well as being a creative space for artists in residence.
