Château des Tourelles

The Tourelles Castle, listed a Historic Monument, dates back to 1196. It stood as a fortress to protect the access to the medieval bridge on the right bank of the river Seine. The castle was damaged during World War II: one of the turrets, destroyed in 1944 by a British bomb, has been rebuilt. You can walk in the grounds to have a closer look at the castle. The picturesque building is what is left of an old wheat mill built on the piers of the medieval bridge.
