Exposition permanente du Chanoine Porée
The Chanoine Porée permanent exhibition is located in the small hall of the town hall in Bournainville-Faverolles (Eure).
This beautifully restored presbyteral manor houses a small museum dedicated to the local parish priest, Canon Porée.
Canon Porée (1848 ? 1939) divided his time between his parishioners by day and his archaeological and historical research by night. In 1882, he discovered the statue of Hercules slaying the Hydra of Lerna, on display in the Rouen museum. Chevalier of the Légion d?Honneur, he is known for his writings, including the history of the Abbaye du Bec.
