Espace Naturel Départemental : La résurgence du Guiel

Straddling the departments of Orne and Eure, the Guiel river undergoes a geological phenomenon that causes it to pass through an underground system. The disappearance of the watercourse is called a "loss", and its reappearance two kilometers downstream is called a "resurgence". This phenomenon makes the Guiel resurgence one of the most beautiful springs in Normandy. It is accompanied by a series of wet meadows and woodlands, which are home to the flora and fauna associated with these environments, including some rare species.
Identified in 2019, this area is an extension of the existing ENS in Orne.
