La zone humide du Bec
Taking its name from the Bec stream, a tributary of the Risle, this wetland is shared between the communes of Pont-Authou and Bec-Hellouin. It is made up of a mosaic of wetland environments, including wooded riverbanks, ponds, grazed wet meadows and tall-vegetated meadows known as megaphorbia. The latter are home to a dense and diverse flora typical of wetlands, and represent a particularly important habitat for wildlife. However, in the absence of appropriate management, these habitats, which are of particular interest to the local community, tend to evolve rapidly into woodland.
